How to measure your neck for a torc

Please measure all the way around the base of your neck.  This measurement is all we need.  When we make the torc we make the terminal to terminal inside measurement to match the measurement you sent us.

This leaves a gap between terminals which allows for the torc to be taken on and off.

Torcs

To fit your torc: hold terminals and pull forward onto your neck from behind your head.  DO NOT twist torc or open the gap - you risk damaging the wire twists.

Bronze torcs will discolour with wear and will need the occasional polish to keep them bright.

Clean with a wadding type or liquid metal polish (we use Brasso).  Work into detail (an old toothbrush is good for this) and buff with a soft cloth.

When finished wash off polish with dishwashing liquid and warm water and dry thoroughly.

Jewellery finishes and care instructions

We make items in Sterling Silver and Bronze.  Some of our bronze items are available with gilt or silver plate options.  Sterling silver items are hallmarked in accordance with UK law.

Sterling Silver

Clean with a wadding type or liquid metal polish (we use Brasso).  Work into detail (an old toothbrush is good for this) and buff with a soft cloth.

When finished wash off polish with dishwashing liquid and warm water and dry thoroughly.

Bronze items without gilt or gemstones

Bronze items will discolour with wear and will need the occasional polish to keep them bright.

Clean with a wadding type or liquid metal polish (we use Brasso).  Work into detail (an old toothbrush is good for this) and buff with a soft cloth.

When finished wash off polish with dishwashing liquid and warm water and dry thoroughly.

Bronze items with gemstones

As above but avoid getting polish onto the gemstones.  Buff gently with a soft cloth - microfibre ones are good for this.

Wash off polish under lukewarm water and dry carefully with soft cloth.

Gilt bronze and silver plated items

These items are plated with a layer of gold or silver so do not require polishing.  As with all plated items, over time the plating will wear off, especially on those items worn next to skin or rubbing against cloth frequently.  Silver plating seems to wear more quickly than gold, especially next to skin.  You can get items replated at most jewellery shops if required.

We can also replate items but postal charges may make this a more expensive option than using a local jeweller.
